About DIVR Labs

Welcome to DIVR Labs, where we dive deep into the world of Location-Based Virtual Reality (LBVR), blending the realms of gaming and physical space. Our immersive experiences unfold within our expansive 1,614 square foot arenas, engaging all your senses with 4D elements. We take pride in crafting our unique games that transport you through time and space, blurring the line between fantasy and reality.

History

2016

In 2016, Ondra Bach and his team of mobile game developers embarked on an exciting journey. Their fascination with Virtual Reality (VR) technology led to the creation of their first VR game designed for home use. Jakub Kučera conceived the idea for Blue Effect VR, while Honza Galgonek secured the financial backing for their new venture.

2017

DIVR Labs officially commenced operations in 2017. As we delved into our debut project, Blue Effect VR, we recognized the rising prominence of Location-Based VR (LBVR) on the VR scene. LBVR involves crafting games set in arenas that seamlessly integrate with physical surroundings. This approach enhances the immersive experience by engaging all human senses, made possible by 4D headsets and unrestricted movement within a larger area. We welcomed Martin Tichota, whose technological expertise was pivotal for LBVR.

2018

Our shift towards LBVR paid off, resulting in the launch of Golem VR, set in an arena within Prague's Hamleys toy store. This medieval Prague adventure, where players bring the powerful Golem to life and become heroes of a famous legend, enjoyed tremendous success. In a single year, "Golem" enraptured 60 thousand players and earned the title of Czech Game of 2018.

2019

We ventured into the development of Arachnoid, an action game featuring intense player interaction with their surroundings and co-players, along with multiple story endings. This experiment validated our belief that VR excels when guided by game dramaturgy rather than cinematic language. "Golem" VR received a nomination in the "Best Location-Based Entertainment" category at the international VR Awards competition.

2020

Meet the Dinosaurs VR made its debut, initiating a new franchise within Premium Outlet Prague and introducing our own arena in Dubai. We unified the arena concept, ensuring that visitors at all venues could enjoy any game from our production. Unfortunately, the promising expansion was temporarily halted by the COVID-19 pandemic, prompting us to focus on survival in safe mode.

2021

Meet the Dinosaurs VR received a nomination in the "Best Location-Based Entertainment" category at the international VR Awards competition. With support from current investors, led by Honza Galgonek, DIVR Labs weathered the storm. Our CEO, Lukáš Marek, seized a remarkable opportunity - to establish a global lovebrand in this innovative form of entertainment.

2022

We secured a multi-million Euro investment from EC Investments, under the leadership of Daniel Křetínský and Patrik Tkáč. We wasted no time, preparing to open new venues in London and Stockholm. Our creative studio resumed intensive work on new content, prioritizing LBVR.

2023

In 2023, DIVR Labs continued to forge ahead in the realm of immersive entertainment. This year marked the introduction of Last Stand, a riveting zombie shooter that swiftly gained popularity among our customers. Last Stand injected a surge of adrenaline into our portfolio, captivating the imaginations of those seeking high-octane adventures.

Committed to extending our impact and making our pioneering experiences more accessible, we embarked on an exciting journey into franchising. This strategic initiative aimed to share the enchantment of DIVR Labs with a broader audience. In pursuit of this goal, we proudly unveiled the Pop up Arena, an effortlessly deployable LBVR arena. This innovative solution simplifies the setup of our immersive content, opening doors to thrilling possibilities for bringing our unique experiences to diverse locations and audiences.
